...and by 'Journeyman' they mean 'Journeywoman'.

« on: April 12, 2009, 11:36:50 AM »

So I'm thinking of buying a handheld system sometime in the somewhat near future (next couple of weeks). I'm so up in the air about which one I would go for.

I've been a Sony loyalist for the past 10 years or so...which makes me lean towards the PSP, but I'm still not 100% convinced that that is the system I should buy.

I like the idea of the DS' touch screen but the game library seems a bit childish...that might just be me judging a game by it's cover though.

I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this. Pros, cons, opinions on each that you've had experience with would be a big help!

Thanks in advance, everyone! Cheesy

I'm so pissed at myself.

Yesterday I was playing Madden on my PSP. I got sacked because one of my guys wouldn't pick up the blitz. He just stood there instead of blocking. So I pressed my thumb on the screen with so much pressure, that the internal screen cracked. My PSP is now broken, and I have to buy another one.

...Anyways, I have both the PSP and NDS. They are both great.

That sucks, Dude! Maybe it's a good thing that you don't have a DS...you'd jam the stylus right through the darn thing...LOL

I can't believe they'd take it back! You'd think they wouldn't warranty a broken screen... that's great she got her money back though!

yeah, i dont know what she told them, but they gave her the option of getting a new one or getting her money back and at that point my sister was so mad at my niece that she just got her money back. she probably lied to them. thats what i would have done.

I'm usually a really chilled person, but I tend to get really pissed when playing Madden, both for a hand-held or stationary system.

Anyways, I do have a DS also. I don't really get pissed when playing it, because the games are pretty easy.

...And once, my dog ate my GBA. It looked like a flattened pancake with scratches and toothmarks afterward.

Well, I turned around and bought a PSP (3000 core) today. I haven't even played it yet because you have to charge the stupid battery...who knows how long that will take....oh wait, looks like it's done.

Anyways, I got the bundle which includes Ratchet & Clank Size Matters, National Treasure 2 (movie), and a 1 GB memory card.

I also picked up Patapon and DJ Max Fever.

So yeah....hopefully I won't regret it....

Nice buy on the PSP. You can't go wrong with either. And since I broke my PSP, I have to buy another one...  Angry Maybe I can get a used one for cheap.

Here are the PSP games I currently have:

- God of War: Chains of Olympus
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
- Killzone: Liberation
- Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow
- SOCOM US Navy Seals: Fireteam Bravo 2
- Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters
- TMNT
- Madden 07
- Pro Evolution Soccer 2009
- ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails
...and a few movies and demos

Here are some of the PSP games that I want:

- Daxter
- Tokobot
- Wipeout Pulse
- Starwars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron
- Resistance: Retribution

...You can PM me for info on any of these games, or about the PSP in general.

Got a couple new games the other day:

- Crash: Mind Over Mutant
- Final Fantasy II

I really like the Crash one. FFII I'm not so sure about yet...It's a little too old skool.

Also...not sure if anyone knows/cares about this...They're coming out with Rock Band: Unplugged for the PSP...supposedly in June....

How the hell is rockband going to work on the psp? Even guitar hero on the ds was horrible.

Apparently the game is just going to use the left arrow, up arrow, triangle, and circle buttons for your notes. You'll switch between instruments by hitting either the left or right shoulder buttons.

Here's a video preview of it.

Might make more sense if you see it... Smiley

lol, anyone want to sell me a used PSP for like $50-$75?

...it doesn't have to be in great condition. just no big scratches on the screen, and no internal problems.
