I have had the Voyager for about 3-4 months and it is truly an amazing phone. However, recently I've run into a problem with the front screen.

There is a rectangular shaped discoloration under the front screen (I know its under the screen because I can't wipe it off). I know it would help to get an idea of what I'm talking about with pictures, and I'll post them up asap (Im at work) but for now I'd like to know if anyone is having the same issue based upon my description.

You can only see this discoloration when the screen is on "sleep" or is turned off (the screen must be dark). When the screen is in use, the discoloration is virtually invisible. Also, for some reason you can only see the discoloration under a flourescent light. When viewing under a standard light source (from the sun to regular light bulbs) you can't see it. When I rub the "liquid-like" rainbow discolored area, the "liquid-like" substance will part and reform once I remove my finger. It also doesn't work if i try to rub it off the screen.

It has not affected the touch capabilities but I fear that it will in the future. The front screen is 1.5"x2.5", but the discoloration is about 0.75"x1.75" taking an imperfect rectangular shape.

Does anyone know at all what this is, what it may cause, or if this is some symptom to an inevitable death to my Voyager? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Well, I would download QPST, and take a screen shot of your phone. Even though from what you say I'm 99% sure it is from the screen and not the software, this will still eliminate that possibility. After this, take it to Verizon, have them look at it, and they should replace it free. It has a one year warranty on it, and as long as you haven't dropped it or anything it will be covered.

Do you have a shield on it, cause when i did, the invisible  shield basically went to s*** and got dirty, if it is pull it off and see, and ask for a new shield

TNT, I can't tell you where to download it, it is a P2P program, meaning you have to pay to use it. If you have aim send me an IM and I'll help you out.

Well, it's not showing up so it's not a software issue... This means it has to be a problem with the actual touch screen as previously stated. Take it back to Verizon, as long as you haven't dropped it, or spilled something on it it should be covered under your warranty.

Yea, but even if you have "hacked" it you can replace all the old files easily enough to make it look normal again, and they'll never notice.

well..actually they "can" notice..
in bitpim ive noticed when u replace the original files with one of your own ex: wallpapers.
it says "DATE MODIFIED" and the date..

if it was orginal and youve never touched it, the date modified would be blank.
lol. just telling you they could notice. but they probably to lazy to go through all that to check.

The technicians don't use BitPim though, lol, They won't be able to tell, and they won't be looking for software modifications for a messed up screen Tongue
