VCast Music Manager PC Voyager Connection.

Hello to all who read this.

Thanks to the site owner for providing this LG VX10000 forum.

I had a problem trying to sync between my PC and the Voyager.

Here is how I solved it:

1. Install the phone driver (v4.8.1) from the CD that came with the phone.
2. Plug in the Voyager to the PC using the USB cable that came with the phone.
3. Turn the phone on.
4. Wait for the drivers to install.
5. Download the Verizon V Cast Music Manager by going to http://www.vzam.net/vcastmusic/ .
6. Make sure the phone is connected via USB and its power is on then install Music Manager.
7. Launch Music Manager.
8. On the Voyager, go to the Music app and execute Sync Music. The MTP Device driver will install.
9. Begin using Music Manager.

The problem I had was that the MTP Device driver would not install if I tried to connect to the phone from the Music Manager menu. I tried unplugging the USB then plugging back in, power cycling the phone, and rebooting the computer all with no joy.

From the touch screen, touch the Menu icon (4 blue spheres in a square pattern at the bottom of the screen). Next, touch the Music icon.

From the keyboard, either press the OK button or the right arrow. Highlight the Music icon then press the OK button.

Sorry to hear about your frustration.

I don't have much play time with Vista, but please try the following:

1) Make sure no other cell phone PST type software is running.
2) Temporarily disable anti-virus/anti-trojan/anti-malware programs.
3) Quit Music Manager.
4) Plug in the Voyager then wait for the message that the device is installed and ready to rock.
5) Launch MM.
6) From the Voyager touch screen or keyboard, go to the Music app and run a sync. This installs the MTP driver.
7) If all is well up to this point, quit MM then reboot to reactive your AV protection.

I will also look into this mysterious Vista driver for Voyager you mentioned and report back.

Below is an update for utilizing Music Manager with Microsoft Windows Vista.

"I've had a heck of a time installing anything on Windows Vista, including 3 different cell phones. With the Voyager, it wouldn't find any of the drivers that I installed, and would just install a couple of things, search aimlessly for the rest until it would finally give up. I uninstalled and reinstalled until I was about to give up, when I remembered what I had to do to get my Pantech Ocean to finally sync up with Vista.

First:
I hooked up my Voyager with the USB cable, went to SETTINGS & TOOLS then 2. TOOLS, then 9. USB MASS STORAGE. Windows recognized the phone and then found it's own drivers and it finally showed up as a drive on My Computer.

Next:
Went to SETTINGS & TOOLS and 9. USB AUTO DETECTION and selected SYNC MUSIC and, again, Windows was off and running, did it's thing and my phone was FINALLY able to sync with my music. So, I guess Vista found it's own drivers on the net, because I had previously uninstalled the ones from the Verizon disk.

I never did install the VCAST Music Manager software, because Windows Media Player 11 recognized my phone and I was able to sync music from there.

I'm just assuming with what I did with my Ocean and the Voyager, Vista needs to recognize the phone as a mass storage device before it will recognize it as anything else!

I also got Bit Pim to work with the phone no prob, but all I ever really wanted to do with that was add ringtones, and the picture message method is so easy, I just do it that way."

I feel like a real whiner, but, man, this V CAST Music Manager is KKIILLIINNGG MMEE !!!! 

I installed it, and every time I load it, it is scanning every single MP3 file on my hard drive. Every one. if I hit cancel, it just hourglasses and eventually just goes to the next.

I was hoping to mess around with this software a little tonight, but, with the amount of Mp3's that I have on my computer, I'll be here a month of Tuesdays.

Oh well. I suppose it could be worse.

So, I have read through this post thouroghly and cant figure out why my voyager wont connect I have tried everything even the LG repair and re-initiate tool, it keeps poping up with a wizard that looks for somthing (drivers maybe) but it wont find anything any help is hugly appreciated. (yes I know I suck at spelling.)
