I was looking through Verizons phone selection and they really need to have some WiFi phones that are not a smartphone.  I would use it all the time and i would pay more up front for it.  i was hoping that the voyager 2  or env touch would have it as a feature... but  no.

Wifi is exclusively offered on smartphones across all carriers.  I'm not aware of any non-smartphones that have wifi capabilities with any service in the U.S.  In fact, wifi is one of the major differences between the two types of cell phones.

they normally call any phone w/ wifi a smart phone and they all usually need data packages
(well ofcourse u would need the data plan to use the wifi but u get what i mean right )

yeah it just kinda sucks.  If verizon would come out with just a regular phone that has wifi on it they would have a edge over the rest.  I also think its stupid they need a data plan to use them.  I have a ipod touch, which has wifi, and of course it doesnt cost anything.  If verizon would intigrate this into one of there regular phones without charges i would buy it.   I know the downfall for them though is they would not be making money off of the wifi usage.

first off verizon doesn't make phones they bu8y them from companies like samsung and lg
secondly that would be rediculous because they would make no money off of it they want us to be happy w/ them yes but that doesn't mean they r gonna sell themselves short

I don't think you understand.  Wifi capabilities would make it a smartphone.  There will never be a non-smartphone that has wifi.  It would be the same as asking for a regular phone that can run the Windows Mobile OS.  Once it can do that, it would be classified as a smartphone.

exactly once it has those capabilities such as wifi email messaging etc it is classified as a smart phone
